BC Glacier Resort On Hold

A controversial, decades-long plan to build a year-round ski resort on the Jumbo Glacier near Invermere, British Columbia, has been put on hold after their environmental assessment certificate expired last week.
The plan for the resort, which initially was purposed in 1991, has felt opposition from surrounding areas that previously stymied building efforts. Despite this and the recent environmental certificate set-back, Tommaso Oberti, a proponent of Glacier Resorts Ltd., still hopes to move forward with the multi-billion dollar project.
